Harpoon Darts

When it comes to Harpoon Dart selection, you have a choice between the Bronze "Lily" Dart and the Penetrator "Shark" Dart.  Both have proven themselves in the field on all large, highly prized pelagic fish. 

Each dart comes professionally rigged with your choice of 4 feet of 1700 lb/test vinyl coated stainless steel cable, or 5000 lb/test Dyneema 12 Strand Braided Rope.

The Bronze Lily has been the gold standard in Harpooning for a hundred years. The arrow shaped design goes in smooth and holds like an anchor. This is an excellent choice for most Harpoon applications.

The Penetrator "Shark" Dart combines the best qualities of the common Bronze "Lily" Dart and The West Coast Favorite "Halibut" Dart. It is constructed from Brass and is also available in Nickel Plated Brass to even further combat corrosion....  and they look Badass!  The Penetrator Dart measures 4.5" long.

The sleek penetrating tip and fluted design gives the Penetrator Dart the ability to pierce thru gill plates, flesh, cartilage, and bone. In scenarios where the traditional bronze harpoon dart can fail, the Penetrator Dart succeeds. The aft end of the dart is flanged out on both sides at and cupped to grab hold of flesh and pop off of the dart shaft evenly so you can avoid sticking the dart to the shaft.  After harpooning a fish, the Penetrator dart will flip horizontally and buttonhole your quarry when the harpoon line is pulled tight. Even if the penetrator dart is not punched thru it’s target, the rear flanges of the dart will dig into the flesh and embed the dart to prevent it from pulling out.

Replacement Darts and Dart Setup

If you currently own a harpoon and are looking for a better alternative to the traditional bronze dart, we have drilled them out 3/8” so they will fit other harpoon brands.

If you own a Skurge of the sea Harpoon, you already know that they come equipped with our tried and true Harpoon Dart Retention System that used #64 fishing elastics to keep the dart lightly tacked to the dart shaft so that during the “End Game”, when there is extreme slack present in the harpoon line. The dart itself will not inadvertently fall of the harpoon dart shaft….  Lets face it, Nobody wants a “Premature Release”.
